Students in the College complete one major as part of the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Some students choose to add a second College major, and minors are optional. A student may complete up to two minors, with at least one of those minors in the College.

How majors and minors work in the College

Your Major
College students must complete the requirements for one major to receive the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.).
Some students may choose to add a second College major depending on their interests and degree plan.
Major requirements should be reviewed carefully with the department and with advising support.
Adding a Minor
Minors are not required for the degree, but students may choose to add them to deepen or broaden their studies.
A student may complete up to two minors.
At least one minor must be in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Planning with Advising
Students should work with their Advising Dean and major advisor to understand how majors and minors fit into the full degree plan.
Planning early can help students meet requirements efficiently and stay on track for graduation.
